NEW YORK— September 12, 2006 —Alan Atkinson, CEO of WysDM Software, the leading provider of innovative data protection management (DPM) solutions, will speak at the Data Protection Summit at Storage World Conference Fall 2006, from 3:00 to 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20 in Boston, Massachusetts at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center. Participants in the Data Protection Summit panel session will address the increasing value of data and how to best expand the infrastructure to maximize efficiency across the board. The panel will also discuss the emergence of Recovery Management as a discipline and how to manage the remote office from a data protection perspective.

The Data Protection Summit, part of the conference’s Business Continuance Track, will be hosted in the Waterfront Ballroom 3 and moderated by Arun Taneja, founder and consulting analyst, The Taneja Group. In addition to Atkinson, other participants in the summit panel include Brian Biles, vice president of product management, Data Domain; Richard Heitmann, vice president of product management, Evault; George Symons, CTO, information management software, EMC Corp.; and John Martin, vice president of product management, Riverbed Technology.

“We continue to hear from end users that they are plagued with poor visibility, poor controls and unknown recovery capabilities when it comes to data protection,” said Arun Taneja, founder, Taneja Group. “Fortunately, data protection management (DPM) solutions such as WysDM’s are  emerging as an intelligent means to provide the visibility and control that IT managers need to successfully backup data, execute recovery, create policies and ultimately integrate data protection with business processes like compliance. We are delighted that Alan Atkinson will be part of SWC’s participation in the data protection summit, and look forward to his unique and interesting perspectives on this exciting technology and evolution of data protection.”

Storage World Conference (SWC), widely recognized for its continuing education program and exhibition, focuses on making storage networking and management education more accessible to all users, from small and medium-sized business to the large-scale enterprise. Storage World Conference Fall 2006 will be held September 19-21 at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center, Boston.
