Contact:WYSDM SOFTWARE CEO ALAN ATKINSON TO PARTICIPATE IN PANEL PRESENTATION ON PERSISTENT DATA AT STORAGE NETWORKING WORLD
NEW YORK —October 24, 2006—Alan Atkinson, CEO of WysDM Software, the leading provider of innovative data protection management (DPM) solutions, will join a panel presentation addressing a new class of data called persistent data at Storage Networking World taking place October 31 through November 3. The presentation will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 2 at the JW Marriott in Orlando, Florida in CORDOVA 3. WysDM will also demonstrate its intelligent data protection management solutions from booth C34 during the show’s exhibit hours.
Persistent data is defined as information that is captured or has aged to a point where it is infrequently changed or modified, but still needs to be retained for future reference or access.
The panel will be led by Brad O’Neill of the Taneja Group and will focus on the Persistent Data Storage Architecture (PDSA) approach developed by COPAN and the industry collaboration formed to manage this growing class of data. In addition to Atkinson, other participants in the session include representatives from FalconStor, Revivio, Seagate, Seven Ten Storage, and Symantec.
“The data protection environment encompasses the largest segment of persistent data, which is both critical and complex,” said Alan Atkinson, CEO, WysDM Software. “Efficient management of persistent data requires solutions that run in heterogeneous environments, provide predictive analysis, cost savings optimization, business policy enforcement and advanced reporting capabilities. WysDM’s DPM solution plays a role in PDSA by identifying inefficiencies in the data protection environment, eliminating risk to meet guaranteed service levels around recovery, and enabling cost savings.”
