WysDM Receives Highest Overall Rating
NEW YORK, NY—Nov. 22, 2005—WysDM Software, Inc., a leading provider of innovative data protection management (DPM) solutions, today announced that an audience of IT users at the Storage Decisions show in Las Vegas, selected WysDM as the winner of the Backup Reporting Shoot-out conducted by Diogenes Analytical Laboratories, Inc. There were two featured shoot-out competitors: Tavata TESM, and WysDM. The shoot-out was not sponsored, commissioned or funded by any vendor. Testing Environment
Prior to the shoot-out, Diogenes tested each of the products. The testing environment included two Windows 2003 Servers running Symantec/Veritas Netbackup 5.2. The first server held a Fibre Channel connection to a tape library through a Brocade switch, and the second server hosted a SCSI-attached tape library. The test environment also included three Windows 2003 Servers clients.
The test protocol included running full backups every 4 hours and incremental backups every hour. Each product ran for 5-7 days while Diogenes tested random restores of various files and report generation/evaluation. IT Users Select WysDM as Winner of Backup Reporting Shoot-out
On November 10, 2005 at the Storage Decisions conference in Las Vegas, Diogenes presented an overview of the backup and recovery reporting tool market, important evaluation criteria, and the results of its Backup Reporting Shoot-out to an audience of IT users, and then polled the audience for their responses to the following seven questions based on the presentation.
