WYSDM SOFTWARE CEO ALAN ATKINSON TO DISCUSS BEST PRACTICES FOR MANAGING INFORMATION PROTECTION AT ENTERPRISE INFORMATION WORLD

NEW YORK, NY — May 16, 2006 —Alan Atkinson, CEO of WysDM Software, the leading provider of innovative data protection management (DPM) solutions, will discuss the drivers behind information protection management at Enterprise Information World on May 25. His session, titled "Is Your Business Protected? The Need for Managing Information Protection - A Best Practices View," will address the challenges organizations face with today's large and complex backup and recovery environments.

Information requirements continue to expand in size and complexity, and the cost of managing that information continues to escalate. In his presentation Atkinson will discuss how information protection requirements have shifted from "Did the backup work?" to the much more complex question, "Is my business protected?" While organizations may have the ability to back up and restore their corporate information, being able to take action before critical information is at risk is a decidedly different issue.

In addition, regulatory burdens mean that protecting information and keeping it in compliance is of paramount importance today and a prime concern of every backup administrator. Managing information protection has become a necessity. Atkinson will discuss ways to bridge the gap between the technical and business definitions of successful information protection management, and how to implement an advanced strategy that ensures the health of information management environments, ensures compliance based on business policies to reduce exposure, and reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO) by optimizing the storage environment and leveraging existing resources for optimum efficiency.

The first event designed to aid managers in planning and implementing an information-centric enterprise to address the complexity of compliance, legal, and security risk, Enterprise Information World (EIW) will be held May 23-25, 2006, at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Secaucus, New Jersey, just outside New York City. EIW is sponsored by the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), a not-for-profit global organization comprising more than 460 member companies and close to 7,000 individuals spanning virtually the entire storage industry.
