SYSDM® NAMES TIM TOKARSKY VP, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Experienced Enterprise Software Industry Exec
to Launch Partnership Initiative for SysDM's Backup Analysis Solutions

January 26, 2004 - NEW YORK - SysDM®, Inc., a leading developer of innovative backup analysis solutions, today announced Tim Tokarsky has joined its management team as Vice President, Business Development. Tokarsky will be responsible for developing and managing SysDM's technology partner and reseller relationships while managing its marketing programs.

SysDM's flagship solution, WysDM for Backups™, began shipping in Fall 2003. With WysDM for Backups, enterprises are able to meet their service agreements, backup within prescribed time windows, and ensure their data is backed up and able to be restored - alleviating significant business risks.

"We are thrilled to have a software industry executive with Tim's vision and experience join the SysDM team," said Alan Atkinson, Founder & CEO of SysDM. "He brings outstanding value with his experience on both sides of the table - as an IT design executive with Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, and on the vendor side with Micromuse."

"I'm looking forward to continuing the momentum here at SysDM," said Tokarsky. "The storage industry has been waiting for a scalable, easy-to-deploy solution that alleviates risk by gathering and correlating backup performance and configuration information from across the enterprise."

Tokarsky's IT career began at Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for the global systems monitoring design and rollout. In 1995, he joined Merrill Lynch as VP, Distributed Systems Management with responsibility for the design and implementation of the firm's global distributed systems management strategy. This included performance management, monitoring, distributed scheduling, backup and restore and software distribution.

Tokarsky joined Micromuse's executive team in early 1997, pre-IPO, as VP, Application Development. He designed and oversaw development of three software solutions: Netcool/Impact, Netcool/Reporter and Netcool/NT Service Monitors. He was eventually promoted to Senior VP, Business Development where he was responsible for the company's product market strategy, marketing, partnerships and acquisition activity. During his tenure with Micromuse annual software revenues increased from less than $2.0 million to more than $212 million.

Tokarsky joins an executive team already rich with storage industry talent, with experience in IPO startups, enterprise end-user storage solutions, and vendor solutions. In addition to Tokarsky, the company's officers include the following founders:

-          Alan Atkinson, Founder & CEO - AT&T Bell Labs, Goldman Sachs, StorageNetworks

-          Jim McDonald, Founder & CTO - Goldman Sachs, StorageNetworks

-          Steve Laskowski, Founder & VP Sales - Intel, Epoch, EMC, Internet Security Systems

-          Mark Lonsdale, Founder & VP Product Development - Goldman Sachs, StorageNetworks

About WysDM for Backups™

With WysDM for Backups, enterprises are able to meet their service agreements, backup within prescribed time windows, and ensure their data is backed up and able to be restored - alleviating significant business risks. WysDM for Backups gathers and correlates performance and configuration information from enterprise-wide elements. These elements can include backup servers and software, tape libraries and drives, storage applications, servers, network devices, and storage arrays. WysDM for Backups consolidates performance and utilization information from all these assets, highlighting bottlenecks.

Cross-Domain Correlation
WysDM for Backups implements SysDM's patent-pending Cross-Domain Correlation technology. This innovative, agent-less technology analyzes information collected from network, storage, systems and application domains to provide IT teams with real-time backup analysis describing what happened, what's happening now and what may happen.

The Cross-Domain Correlation functionality enables backup administrators to pinpoint the true cause of infrastructure failures and performance bottlenecks before they impact the business. Because WysDM for Backups actively collects data (rather than solely reacting to events), it is able to interpret trending information from its historical data mine.

WysDM for Backups installs in hours, returning its value immediately, as opposed to traditional solutions that take days, weeks or even months. No installation is required on backup servers, and the application integrates with existing IT tools via XML APIs. WysDM for Backups runs under Solaris, Linux and Windows. Screen shots and customer references are available upon request.
