Contact:WYSDM SOFTWARE QUADRUPLES CUSTOMER BASE AS DEMAND FOR LEADING-EDGE DATA PROTECTION MANAGEMENT SOLUTION EXPLODES
NEW YORK—Dec. 12, 2006—WysDM Software, Inc., the leading provider of innovative data protection management (DPM) solutions, announced today that it has acquired more than 200 customers in the last 18 months — quadrupling its customer base in just the last year. Adoption of the company’s comprehensive backup reporting and predictive analysis software has rapidly accelerated, demonstrating the need enterprise organizations have for more efficiently managing their backup and recovery environments. Other key WysDM milestones in 2006 include new OEM agreements with COPAN Systems and Avamar, and expansion of the company’s reseller channel and footprint into the Asia Pacific region.
“It is not surprising that WysDM has enjoyed a successful year,” said Arun Taneja, founder, the Taneja Group. “We continue to see a rise in the demand for increased visibility and control over the data protection environment as organizations realize they need more than just a reporting tool. WysDM software goes well beyond reporting and enables businesses to prevent problems in the network before they occur.”
Milestones Achieved in 2006
In addition to quadrupling the company’s customer base, WysDM further bolstered its industry leadership position with enhanced DPM offerings delivered through a strong global channel, industry accolades, and expansion of its workforce to support the company’s rapid growth. WysDM highlights for 2006 include:
Enhancements to WysDM Data Protection Management Software Suite

- service-level agreement (SLA) resolution and management, and support for new technologies.

- WysDM enhanced its software suite to include application discovery capabilities that provide reporting and analysis to meet critical business requirements. This added functionality bridges the gap between technical requirements and business objectives by enabling organizations to gather information associated with applications, recovery points, and restore times to ensure regulatory compliance and business continuity.
Strengthening Deal Flow through the Channel
WysDM announced new reseller agreements as well as two new OEM agreements in 2006.
- Data backup and storage specialist Redstor joined InTechnology, Posetiv, and 2e2 in distributing WysDM’s intelligent data protection management solutions to European enterprise customers. Redstor’s customers, which are primarily in the finance, manufacturing, education, and oil and gas industries, include companies such as Leaseplan, BP, CSR, and the NHS.
- Building on the company’s significant customer and partner relationships in Europe and North America, WysDM extended its presence into the Asia Pacific region by partnering with BIOS Corporation Japan. WysDM’s DPM solution complements BIOS’s existing portfolio of storage and data protection solutions.
- WysDM signed OEM agreements with COPAN Systems and Avamar Technologies. COPAN is reselling WysDM for Backups as a complementary component of its Persistent Data Storage Architecture (PDSA) solution.
